DCM Public School Celebrates it’s 6th Annual Day on Sunday with lots of fan fare and fervor. The event was an absolute display of shimmering colours by the students from Class Nursery to Xth.

The programme titled “UTSAV-2016” was a grand celebration full of scintillating performances of the students which left the audiences enthralled and spell bound. 

The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest Sh. Sham Lal Sharma, Sr. Vice President, JKPCC, J&K.  Present on the occasion were the Guest of Honour Sh. I.D Soni, State Commissioner, Bharat Scouts & Guides and Sh. Kuldip Singh Jamwal from SIDCO Samba. Welcome speech was presented by the Director of the School, Mr. Dheeraj Jamwal Sharma followed by vibrant and spectacular performances of the students. 

Present on the occasion was the Chairman of the school Sh. Sat paul Sharma, The Principal Mrs. Rama Jamwal read out the Annual report highlighting the prominent achievements of the school during the academic year.  The Classical Dance, The Mask Dance and Cultural Items from various states of India were a delight to watch.  The parents were much delighted to see their children performing.  The Chief Guests distributed trophies and certificates to the Prize Winners for the Session 2015-16.  The show ended with the magnificent grand  finale the “ Indian Fusion”.


Keeping the spree of celebration of ‘Rainbow Bonanza’ the kindergarten children of DCM Public School today celebrated ‘Blue Day’ with great enthusiasm. Children were all dressed in blue. Even the teachers were in blue dress code. The entire tiny toddler section was decorated with blue objects. Recognition of blue colour was done with the help of blue colour objects. Children participated in many creative activities like hand painting, making blue colour crepe paper boats, kites and filling blue balloons. It was fun- filled day for the students. By such activities the significance of each colour is reiterated. Students learn and perform better in academics. There was much competitive spirit between the children and they were all anxious to make a contribution to their group’s display. Present on the occasion was the Principal of the school Mrs. Rama Jamwal who lauded the creativity of the teachers.


DCM Public School organized grand farewell party in the school auditorium to bid farewell to Class X. The cultural programme was appreciated by the audience with thundering applause. Amidst emotional outburst and pain of separating from the alma- mater the outgoing students expressed their gratitude and feelings through poetry and farewell speeches by the Head Girl and the Head Boy of the school. The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest Mr. Sat Paul Sharma -Chairman of the School, The Director of the School Mr Dheeraj Jamwal Sharma and the Principal Mrs. Rama Jamwal.

The cultural programme was truly memorable. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Yashica. Interesting games and skits were the attraction of the programme. Later, the most coveted titles were presented to the students after series of events like ramp walk, talent rounds and quiz rounds.

Deep Ishita and Abhisheikh Singh were crowned as Miss DCMPS and Mr. DCMPS respectively. Pranshul and Shivali were crowned Mr Charming and Miss Charming. Aman and Rashi as Mr Personality and Miss Personality respectively.

The Chairman Mr. Sat Paul Sharma, The Director Mr Dheeraj Jamwal Sharma, The Principal Mrs. Rama Jamwal in their speeches extended best wishes to the students for their CBSE Board Exams and exhorted to be Sincere, virtuous and righteous to achieve excellence and success in their future ventures.


Investiture Ceremony, at DCM Public School was held on Saturday, 7 May 2016. It was organized with great enthusiasm and zeal to create awareness among the students towards their duties and responsibilities to maintain the smooth functioning, extracurricular activities by investing them with some special duties. The newly elected cabinet of student council was pinned with badges for Head Boy, Head Girl, Captain and Vice Captain of the respective houses. An oath ceremony was also conducted in which the newly selected cabinet took the pledge to deliver their duties with pure mind and conscience.

Col. Bana Ram Sharma ji and Dr K.C.Bhagat very prominent and eminent social activists and personalities of Akhnoor were the chief guests.

Present on the occasion were the Chairman of the school Sh. Satpaul Sharma ji, The Managing Director of the school Mr.Dheeraj Jamwal Sharma and Principal of the school Mrs. Rama Jamwal. The newly elected student Council was congratulated. They were motivated and inspired to perform their duties with loyalty and fullest sincerity.

Annual Sports Day

School is not a place to develop only student’s mental abilities but a place where his overall personality is being groomed, his hidden talents are exhibited and his physical endurance is excelled. Here in DCM Public School, Akhnoor, we are committed to give such platform to our students. DCM Public School, Akhnoor organized its Annual Sports Day in the school mini stadium. Hon’ble MOS Mr. Daljit Singh, Chairman Kissan Board –J&K was the chief guest. He applauded the efforts of the children and gave away medals to the winners. He also emphasized the role of sports in over all development of the child’s personality and appreciated the school staff and management to take such initiatives. Guest of Honor Mr. I.D. Soni, in his speech emphasized on value based learning and shared his valuable thoughts with the students.

Chairman of the school, Mr. S.P. Sharma, Managing Director Mr. Dheeraj Jamwal Sharma and Principal Ms. Rama Jamwal were also present to bless the students.

Healthy Tiffin competition

To inculcate the habit of healthy food and healthy habits, inter-class healthy Tiffin competition was organized. Students brought mouth watering dishes from home. Students were told about the ill effects of junk food and how healthy food helps the immune system build stronger and stimulation of mental and physical development. Students were also told about the nutrition value and what comprises of healthy food. Later the best Tiffin was adjudged and students were awarded and appreciated.

Janamashtami celebration

The festival of janamashtami signifies not merely the birth of great divine teacher of mankind “Lord Krishna” but the lighting of the spark too.

Of the divine power in everyone of us which spurs us on to play our dynamic part in this world of practical and hard realities with a sense of high spiritual purpose. The students were thrilled celebrating the infancy of Lord Krishna and wanted to be like him and strived hard to look exactly like him and participate in the activities Kanha used to do as per the Indian mythology. Students of DCMPS participated in fancy dress competition, mataki race and kite flying competition on the occasion.

Flower Decoration Competition

Importance of Flowers has already been mentioned in almost all the religious scriptures. Since the ancient times, Flowers are offered to Almighty God while prayers. Flowers, worldwide, are also used to welcome the guests as a mark of respect and taken as a good omen.

DCMPS organized inter house flower arrangement competition to enhance the creativity skill of students. The students participated whole heartedly and enthusiastically in the competition. Later, the best houses were declared.

Plantation Drive

Our environment is our life support system and plant life is the most critical element of the system for its flora that sustains the fauna. The students participated in the drive by making greetings and planting saplings in the school campus. This event was organized specially to spread awareness among students about the need to save environment.

Workshops / Teacher Trainings

DCM public school organized teachers’ orientation cum workshop on life skills and Spoken English.

The resource persons were Dr. Rakesh Bharti – Phonetics Expert and Mr. Balwant Raj Sharma – Life Skills Expert.

The purpose of the very focused and fruitful workshop was to elucidate and emphasize the objective of life skills and spoken English; exemplify its application from the grass roots level.

Workshops / Teacher Trainings

Picnics, Excursions and Educational Trips To break the monotony and feel the change from routine schooling, children were taken for picnics and excursions.

Classes Nursery to 3rd were taken to Nud recreational park. An absolute paradise in the foothills of The Himalyas.

Classes 4th to 10th students were taken to Patnitop, Natha-Top and Sanasar for an overnight trip.

The students enjoyed the trip to the best. They were highly thrilled and overwhelmed by the scenic beauty and wonderful trekking.

Students of middle and secondary classes were also taken to Educational Trips to acquaint them with the actual scenario of Business houses, manufacturing and our rich and precious cultural Heritage.

Students were taken to Pizza hut for firsthand experience of how a Pizza is made and facts about the origin and the varieties of the dish.

Students also visited the Ancient Spot of Buddhist Monasteries in Ambaran on the banks of River Chenab and witnessed the ancient Terracotta potteries and Stupas which are preserved by the Govt. of India till date.

Rangoli & Diya Making Competition

We sing to impress Almighty God. We offer prayers and often dedicate hymns and verses from the core of our heart to get into the Almighty’s shelter. The love towards the almighty God, in enormity, takes shape of creativity within us to canvas it in the form of patterns with flower petals, leaves’ colors etc. called “Rangolis”

On the eve of Diwali a weeklong celebration was organised by DCM Public school. Poetry recitation, drama and Rangoli competitions were the main attractions. The zeal and enthusiasm of the participating teams added to the festivities of the flair fest.

The purpose of education is not only to develop the required knowledge but to develop the capacity and mindset of creation and possibilities.

In order to encourage the innovation in young minds, different competitions really inspired the students to bring out the creativity and talent.

Guest parents judged the best Rangoli. They enjoyed the artistic work of the children. School Management appreciated the efforts put in by the students and staff.

Rakhi making competition

Education is not a race but a journey. We must make this journey interesting for children by involving them in activity oriented education where traditions and customs amalgamate with learning.

Amongst the other relations around us, the relationship between a brother and sister has altogether different warmth. Siblings are the best friends and the best mentors. Rakshabandhan is celebrated across India and considered as one of the major festivals of the country.

To celebrate this special bonding, many students of various standards zealously participated in rakhi making competition. The rakhis made out of waste materials were delight to watch. Material like dry fruits, pulses, waste papers and cloth were used.

The best were adjudged and accorded with prizes.

Teacher’s day celebration

A Teacher Takes a hand, Opens a mind and Touches a heart.

The Guru Shishya parampara denotes a succession of Teachers and Disciples in traditional Indian culture.

Teachers’ day is celebrated as a tribute to the valuable contribution made by teachers to the society by imparting knowledge and shaping the careers of students and shaping them as good human beings.

While the world celebrates the day as acknowledged by UNESCO, we in India celebrate the day as a symbol of tribute and honor to the very influential personality Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and to encourage the contribution of teachers to the society.

On 5th September teacher’s day celebrated with great fervor and zest. Special assembly was organized and rich tributes were paid to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. The students played role act of teachers. They stressed that teaching is a supreme art, a profession which decides the fate of the world. Students must be magnanimous and unanimous to their teachers for imparting knowledge which is immortal.
